Don't you have anything else to do in Washington DC? You're planning to boycott an event that won't take place for over a year from now. A lot could change in that time.
And those players you think need protection from this law? Guess what - they have to go through the process of getting into this country LEGALLY. They have to get visas to work here. And guess what again? They have to pay U.S. Federal Income Taxes on the money they earn in the U.S. (including endorsements). These players play by the rules of our country. Why shouldn't others?
Second, its very simple. If you come into the U.S. illegally, you have NO RIGHTS! You are breaking the law just by being here, and you KNOW it. If you go through the system to enter the country legally, you should not have a problem with proving it if you are stopped by police for doing something else that is wrong. Something that ANY person would be stopped for. That's the law...police have to have a reason for stopping you other than just "looking foreign".
Its like breaking a law while driving. A cop sees you run a red light so you are pulled over. And what is the first thing the cop asks you to do? Show him your drivers license - to prove you have a legal right to be driving. See? No one objects to this, and it shouldn't be a big deal to carry proof that you have a right to be here.
